Old Bridge of Urr Dumfries and Galloway A hamlet in Dumfries and Galloway, Old Bridge of Urr lies on the Urr Water, nearly 4 miles (6.5 km) north of Castle Douglas. The river is crossed here by a two-span bridge which bears two panels dating from 1580. Downstream is the Mill of Urr, complete with water-wheel, millstones and corn-drying kiln.

Situated at the SE end of Haugh of Urr, at the junction between the roads to Dalbeattie and Urr Church. This type of road sign, or 'fingerpost' was once ubiquitous on the roads of Scotland, and is an important part of the history of road transport. Many were erected during the inter-war period, as a response to the increasing use of the motor car.

Mill, Old Bridge of Urr, late 18th to early 19th century. An irregular 2 storey rubble complex on an L plan, sharing a wheel with a rectangular sawmill. The kiln and granary are on the other side of the access road. The wheel is high breast, with cast-iron axle and rings and wooden spokes and buckets, 3ft 8in wide by 16ft diameter (1.11 by 4.88m).
